Hey all! As you probably know, I was recently offered a contract to teach at a High School in Singapore with the Ministry of Education there. My first contract is for 15 months and I start teaching on March 7th, 2011.
In order to get settled in and get my life in order before I'm put in charge of the youth of tomorrow I am moving to Singapore two weeks before then, which means I will be leaving Canada on or around February 21st.
Some of you might subscribe to my other blog but I wanted to start one to specifically chronicle my travels so that you all can follow me from afar. I will keep you updated here about how things are going and what the move is like. I hope to post pictures and use this as a way to show you what my life in Asia looks like.
The next step in my journey to get to Singapore will be a health check with a doctor that will involve an HIV test, a chest x ray, and a blood and urine test. I am going to try and get that all done early in January. I should also be finding out in January or early February what school I will be teaching at. Once I know where my school is I can start looking in to housing near my school and what kind of apartment I want while I'm there.
The good news is that I found that Singapore has got an IKEA, as well as a MAC Cosmetics and LUSH. These are all important peices of information for me. Call me materialistic, but it's how I roll.
